I love Matthew Tkachuk's game – he's one of my favorite players in hockey – but he really needs to cut some of the crap out of his game. You can't stick someone in the gut during a scrum under any circumstances but especially when you're on the bench. It wasn't exactly a vicious spear but it could be enough to get him a game on the sidelines, which the Flames simply can't afford right now. They need all hands on deck, not one of their best players sitting because of a dumb suspension.

It was a solid game from the Flames. Full marks for effort and the defence actually held it together without any major blunders. So that alone is a big step forward. I really enjoyed watching Jankowski's line last night. Janko had some dominant shifts and he looked good out there with Hathaway. OT was a crazy free for all.

The real difference in the game was Frederik Andersen.

We'll see if the Flames can carry momentum into tonight's game in Montreal. Assuming they are going up against Carey Price this evening, it could be another tough game.

I think the Flames outplayed the Leafs and deserved 2 points. Your best players were better than our best players except Anderson.

They didn't trade for Hamonic expecting him to be our top defenseman, he's doing just what should have been expected. Only way that trade bites is if we don't make the play offs, which could happen. Snow still has to pick the right guy with our first, not all turn out like Barzel!
